What is tree cabling?

Cabling installs high-strength cable between stems or limbs high in the canopy so they move together and share the load in wind. Bracing uses threaded rods through a weak union to hold it together. Both are done to ANSI A300 standards by an arborist.

Will cabling save a tree that's already split?

Sometimes. If the split is partial, the wood is sound, and the tree is otherwise healthy, bracing plus cabling can stabilize it. If there's decay in the union or the split is severe, we'll tell you removal is the safer call.

Which trees in Goodyear usually need cabling?

How long does a cable system last?
