Desert mistletoe is a parasitic plant, spread by birds, that grows in clumps on palo verde, mesquite, ironwood, and acacia. A little won't kill a healthy tree, but heavy infestations sap it over the years. We prune it out and set up a simple monitoring schedule so it doesn't take over.

Can you support a big limb instead of removing it?
