Avondale sits right next door to us. The Goodyear line runs along Dysart Road, so much of the city is closer to our crews than parts of Goodyear are. That matters when a limb comes down in a July storm and you need someone there today, not next week.

The trees here tell the story of when each neighborhood was built. Garden Lakes, Coldwater Springs, Rancho Santa Fe, and Crystal Gardens went in during the 1990s and early 2000s, and they are full of mature ash, mulberry, eucalyptus, and Aleppo pine that have reached the size where problems show up: sooty canker on the mulberries and ash, roots lifting sidewalks and pool decks, pines dropping limbs or declining one section at a time. Cashion and Old Town Avondale along Western Avenue are older still, with big established trees on aging irrigation. At the other end, Del Rio Ranch, Glenhurst, and Alamar south of I-10 near Estrella Mountain Regional Park are newer, with young desert trees still getting established.
